Live painting for Harry Styles Pop-up Shop in Amsterdam!
Photography by @lenaafst
Talk about a big client?!?
Harry Styles landed in Amsterdam for a series of concerts and along with him came a POP UP merchandise store on the Looiersgracht in Amsterdam. I was there on may 16th to paint the entire store live!
I had so much fun sketching out this scene as there were giant tomatoes propped up in the middle of the store - perfect to make a live painting feel huge. I worked on a 60 x 80 cm linen canvas and painted with acrylics and oil pastels. I was there for 5-6 hours and the painting was delivered at the location to be exhibited right away.
I usually live paint guests at events, but I’ve been thinking of broadening out my style a bit more so this opportunity came at the perfect timing! The fans in the painting were really there, but mixed and matched to other fans that came in during the day. There was a line of four hours (!!!) in front of the venue, so a constant sea of inspiration. I managed to sneak in a few merch styles, starry clips and tiny 00’s camera’s too. And everyone was SO sweet - I don’t think my work has been tagged as much ever in videos, posts and reels with my namecredited as on this day.
Thank you for the great live painting experience Harry Styles’ Fans and SLAACK productions for booking me!
Would you also like to book me as a live illustrator or painter? More information and a contact form can be found here.
In this studio vlog I show my process on how I prepared for this live painting session.
