If you’re looking for the perfect personalized gift for your guests: live illustration will always be a hit. I create personalized portraits or fashion illustrations in 5-10 minutes that guests can immediately take home with them as a remembrance of your wedding or party. Some past clients of my first events keep in touch years after, saying they still love their illustration!

My drawing style

All my live illustrations are made on A5 watercolour (15 x 21 cm) paper. I work with ink, ecoline, markers and coloured pencil - every material that I can use quickly and doesn’t take a long time to dry. You can find lots of examples on this website or on my live illustration instagram page. I always schedule a (video) call before we set a date to discuss your wishes with you.

What to expect

I arrive +- 20 minute before the event start to set up my drawing station. I can draw 8-10 illustrations per hour. Guests are welcome to pose for a portrait, or I can take photos beforehand to work from those as I know a wedding can be very busy!

If for some reason there are more people to draw than we discussed, if my agenda allows it you can always ask me to stay a bit longer or take photos to finish the illustrations in my atelier. I’ll invoice the extra hour(s) after the event.

About me

I’ve been a live illustrator at various events since 2019 and have since then made hundreds (thousands?) of drawings. I’m located in Utrecht, The Netherlands but am willing to travel.

A few more answered questions

Live illustration is when an artist (that’s me!) draws and paints live at an event. Guests can see the artwork come to live right at the spot.
In a world of A.I. and ‘art’ with the click of a button, live illustration can be a breath of fresh air and very inspiring to watch.
It takes me about 5-6 minutes per person - if a couple wants to be drawn for example, it will take me 10 - 12 minutes.
I made an overview with some examples based on the amount of guests. I’m happy to make a personalized quote for you, just get in touch via the contact form.
In general it comes down to +- € 30 per drawn guest.
After you accept the quote I sent you and we’ve set a date and location, I will send you a first invoice of 40% of the total amount. This will reserve your date.
After the event you will receive an invoice for the other 60% of the total amount.

Your date will be reserved after paying the first invoice.
I just need a table and seating to work comfortably from (for example, a sofa doesn’t work). In case of low lighting I will also need a lamp, or need to know beforehand so I can bring my own.
It’s up to you how to present the drawings I finish. It can be as simple as a table, but you can also hang them or put them in a gift bag if you have one.
Everything else is up to me! I also always bring an example drawing with me so guest know what to expect.

Travel costs vary a lot so I will send you a pricing estimate first. For destination weddings I will arrive one day before your wedding and leave one day after your wedding (unless by destination you mean Belgium ;-). Depending on location I might have to rent a car too.
Including in the travel costs are 2 hotel nights, possible car rental and the flight costs.
Cancellation never happens, but just in case these are my terms:
Client is allowed to cancel the assignment in writing. If the cancellation occurs up to 30 days before the scheduled event, 40% of the agreed fee will be invoiced. If the cancellation occurs up to 14 days before the event, 60% of the agreed fee will be invoiced. In the remaining period leading up to the event, 100% of the agreed fee will be invoiced. Travel costs internationally cannot be reimbursed.
